About us
Orthecta AS was started as a rapid response to the COV19 epidemic in 2021 where Max saw a clear need to provide better protection against the virus for Operating Room staff.
Existing face mask solutions offer only limited protection due to poor fit, and more complex filtered aspirators PAPRs are virtually impossible to sterilize.
With funding from the Norwegian research council and support from hospitals a first generation product was developed and was sold to local hospitals.
Taking this a step further ORTHECTA is the trusted development partner for several surgical applications desired by OR staff:
- Further development of a more practical filtered helmet for OR staff
- Development of a side tray for OR robots to make robotic surgery more practical and convenient for the surgical staff
- A radiolucent hand distractor allowing imaging and hand surgery to take place simultaneously providing better access and visualization for surgeons and more patient comfort.
