of medicine, surgery and engineering.

About Orthecta

Orthecta AS is a Norwegian medical technology company founded in 2021 as a spin-off from Akershus University Hospital, one of Norway’s largest acute care hospitals. Established during the COVID-19 pandemic, the company was created to develop and commercialize innovative healthcare technologies originating directly from clinical practice.
Operating at the intersection of medicine, surgery and engineering, Orthecta identifies unmet clinical needs and transforms them into practical medical solutions. Through close collaboration between healthcare professionals, engineers and industry partners, we develop, commercialize and distribute technologies designed to improve healthcare delivery and patient outcomes.
The company’s innovation platform has received recognition and support from leading Norwegian innovation and research organizations. These achievements reflect the commercial potential of technologies developed from real-world clinical needs.
In addition to developing proprietary products, Orthecta distributes selected medical technologies within the Nordic market, creating a platform for continued innovation and sustainable growth.
Our vision is to become a leading Nordic medical technology company developing innovative healthcare solutions created by clinicians and engineers, for clinicians and patients.
